Money back - Compensation

 

You can ask for a reimbursement if you forget to check out, if the bus ride falls through or if you miss the guaranteed connection to the ferry. In these and a few other situations, you are entitled to (partial) compensation of the ride, also referred to as a reimbursement.

 

Bus line 28 and and the mini Texelhopper buses are covered by this regulation.

 

Situations which entitle you to a (partial) compensation


We make our passengers a number of promises about the speed and ease of their travel. If we do not keep our promises, in many cases you are entitled to compensation.

 

Travelling with line 28 You are entitled to

1. You could not catch the next bus because:

  • The vehicle was full
  • Your ride had been cancelled
  • The bus had departed too soon
  • 30-60 minutes delay: 50% of the trip fare
  • More than an hour delay: 100% of the trip fare
2. You missed your connection on a guarenteed transfer.
  • 30-60 minutes delay: 50% of the total price of the rides before and after the connection. 
  • More than an hour delay: 100% of the total price of the rides before and after the connection.
3. You arrived at your final destination half an hour later because the bus was delayed. 
  • 30-60 minutes dealy: 50% of the trip fare
  • More than an hour delay: 100% of the trip fare

4. Due to crowds, you had to stand on the bus during off-peak hours or longer than 20 minutes during peak hours.
Peak hours are: working days from 07:00 to 09:00 hrs and 16:00 to 18:00 hrs.

  • 50% of the trip fare
5. You forgot to check out.

6. You missed your guarenteed connection with the ferry to Den Helder.

  • 100% of the trip fare

 

 

Travelling with the mini Texelhopper You are entilted to
7. Your trip with Texelhopper arrived more than 15 minutes later than the indicated arrival or departure time. 
  • 50% of the trip fare
8. You missed your guarenteed connection with the ferry to Texel.
  • 100% of the trip fare

 

How do you apply for compensation?
 

OV-chipkaart

Did you forget to check out? Were you unable to check in or out due to a malfunction? Travelled on credit when you have a subscription? Or do you want to cancel a subscription?

Trip cancellation 

Do you travel with the fixed bus service 28 on Texel? A trip is regarded as cancelled when delayed more than 30 minutes. If a ride is completely or particially cancelled, you are entitled to compensation in a number of cases.

 

Delay and inconvenience 

If it does not concern compensation for the use of your OV-chipkaart or for trip cancellation, in a number of above-mentioned situations, you are entitled to a full or partial reimbursement.
